Healthy café restaurant in London

"Farm Girl" in London is a stylish, health-conscious café-restaurant that has established itself firmly in the city's culinary scene since its founding in 2015 by Australian Rose Mann. Originally opened in Notting Hill, the chain has since expanded to several locations in central London neighborhoods such as Chelsea, South Kensington, and Hoxton. Inspired by Mann's childhood on a farm in Victoria, Australia, the concept brings the relaxed, holistic dining culture of Australia to the British capital. It appeals to a wide audience—from health enthusiasts and brunch lovers to Instagram fans who appreciate the photogenic dishes—and combines fresh, nutrient-rich ingredients with a modern, inviting atmosphere.

Australian café culture in London

Culinarily, "Farm Girl" represents a creative blend of healthy and tasty dishes that often evoke the Australian café culture. A highlight is the Açai Bowl, a refreshing mix of frozen Amazon berries, banana, and almond milk, topped with coconut flakes and fresh fruits—an item that not only delights the palate but is also visually stunning. The Green Turkish Eggs are another favorite: poached eggs on a base of spicy yogurt with fresh herbs, offering a perfect balance of lightness and flavor. For meat lovers, there are options like the Slow-Cooked Chicken Sandwich, which impresses with juicy chicken and fresh ingredients, while the gluten-free pancakes—made with baked apples and pears, enhanced with vanilla and rosemary—are a sweet treat that appeals even to health-conscious guests. The menu also includes numerous alternatives for vegan, gluten-free, or dairy-free diets, highlighting the restaurant's versatility.

Best brunch spots in London

In addition to the food, "Farm Girl" is known for its innovative drink menu, heavily influenced by superfoods and aesthetic appeal. The Rose Latte, a pink coffee with rose water and dried flowers, is not just a delight but also a visual experience that often makes its way onto social media. The Liquid Gold, a drink made with turmeric, ginger, and astragalus, is equally popular, with its golden hue and a hint of cinnamon reinforcing the café's health promises. The coffee quality, prepared in the Australian style, reflects Mann's passion for excellent coffee that she brought from her homeland.

The ambiance varies by location but is consistently modern and thoughtfully designed. The decor combines elements of a farm with a touch of Californian ease—such as turquoise tiles, large windows, and pink tables in the outdoor area, which catch the eye immediately. It is a place that invites lingering, whether for a relaxed breakfast, a quick lunch, or an afternoon coffee. The service is often described as friendly and attentive, with staff eager to accommodate individual requests, though there may occasionally be wait times during peak hours. The locations are designed to be suitable for both take-away and longer visits, making them flexible for urban lifestyles.

Obsessed with this place! So bummed i don’t live here because this would be one of my new regular breakfast/lunch spots. The location is so quaint and adorable. The servers were all so kind. My food was so fresh and delicious, just what i was in the mood for. I got the scrambled breakfast, my sister got the açaí bowl (she rated it 5 ⭐️ ) and my mom got the cherry porridge which she loved. Highly recommend.

Bellissimo posto incastonato tra i palazzi di Notting Hill. L’atmosfera è rilassante e il locale molto accogliente. Un piccolo gioiello da provare. Ho assaggiato il porridge che era davvero squisito.

Atrocious, stale, burnt and sour tasting coffee, the tiniest and the most overpriced food portions I’ve seen in London in a while (the saddest, the driest and the most most minuscule avocado toast with the most overcooked rubbery poached egg I've ever been served and the tiniest chorizo sausage for an additional £5.50 which was the size of a cocktail gherkin ), and staff with no social skills, understanding of hygiene or basic hospitality training who couldn’t care less if you live or die. I don’t often write reviews but on this occasion I feel almost obliged to do so as Farm Girl is a great example of what happens to restaurants/cafes when they choose to simply coast by on a little bit of Instagram hype they received a decade ago. I remember coming here pretty regularly with a friend in 2017/2018 and being blown away by the food, the service and the overall vibe. The Farm Girl I visited today was a very far cry from the standard Aussie café culture which they claim to have brought to London. I’m not sure if the cafe has changed ownership/or the owners have simply given up, but this was by far the most depressing and underwhelming experience I’ve had in a while.
